The Wedding Prayer or Blessing is said near the end of the ceremony. It comes after the vows and the ring exchange.

It can be a prayer for the new marriage along with a blessing over the new marriage.

Prayers, blessings and scripture are often used in the Wedding Prayer element of a wedding ceremony.

Here's a list of 7 examples of the Wedding Prayer and/or Blessing...

1.
Gracious God, hear our prayer of marriage blessing and grant ____________ and ____________ a spirit of unconditional love in their relationship and bless us all with loving hearts and minds as we pause to read the timeless and enduring words of 1st Corinthians chapter 13 verses 4 thru 7. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Amen.

2.
A Wedding Prayer by the poet Robert Louis Stevenson. Lord, behold our family here assembled. We thank you for this place in which we dwell, for the love that unites us, for the peace accorded us this day, for the hope with which we expect the morrow, for the health, the work, the food, and the bright skies that make our lives delightful; for our friends  in all parts of the earth. Amen.

3.
Officiant: God of love, bless the marriage of ________ and ________. Surround their relationship and their home with an ever-growing love. May they always be aware of Your presence and Your care in their lives. And now, ________ and ________, may the grace of Christ attend you, the love of God surround you, and the Holy Spirit keep you. Amen.

4.

Officiant: Most gracious God, thou hast kindled in these hearts the fire of a divine love. Wilt thou keep it aflame upon the altar of their souls. Wilt thou make the inward aspirations of their hearts the outward reality of their home. Wilt thou make that home a place of light and truth, a place of beauty, a place of joy and happiness all the days of their lives. Amen.

5.
Officiant: Let us pray. Eternal God, giver of all grace, look with favor upon this man and this woman and give them wisdom and devotion in the ordering of their common life, that each may be to the other a strength in need, a counselor in perplexity, a comfort in sorrow, and a companion in joy. Amen.

Officiant: From every human being there rises a light that reaches straight to heaven, and when two souls that are designed to be together find each other, their streams of light flow together and a single, brighter light goes forth from their united being.

7.

Officiant: Dear God, we ask you grant _________ and _______ the ability to tap into your gift of unconditional love so that they may have the strength to honor the vows they have made to one another on this their wedding day as well as the gift of everlasting and enduring faith in order that your precious love is expressing through them now and always. Amen.
