"Oh, How Pinteresting" is the name of the Pinterest Blog where you can find information about the "Pinterest For Business" feature they launched on November 14th.

The Wedding genre is pleasantly visual, therefore Pinterest is an excellent social media platform to participate in and many business websites report significant traffic coming from Pinterest.

Promoting your wedding officiant business on Pinterest is a good idea and it’s free!

You can easily convert your exisiting account to a business account. Or, you can create a new one.

Custom Photo Calendars at Calendars.com

Since it is a newly launched feature, you are more likely to get the business account name of your choice if you act now.

They offer cool widgets and buttons that you can put on your website using their widget builder.

This is an example of the Pinterest Profile Widget.
Another advantage to using the business feature is having your URL display near your business name, along with a "verification badge" from Pinterest. The verification badge is the red check mark that appears along with your website URL, next to the business name, as shown here…

Pinterest search results for "officiant" pinners. Note the red checkmark and URL verification badge.

To Begin, go to the page to convert or create your account.

After clicking on the Red Button “Convert your existing account”, your profile appears…

Edit your profile information to reflect your business information accordingly.

Then verify your site. From your account settings page, click on “Verify Website” and select either the “HTML file” or the “HTML meta tag” option.

“HTML file”
Download the HTML file from Pinterest and upload it to your website server at the root folder. This is a good option if you are using a self hosting platform such as Fatcow, where you would go to your Control Panel or C Panel and then use the File Manager to upload the file to your root folder.

OR

“HTML meta tag”
For platforms such as Weebly you can use the Meta Tags option. Copy the meta tag code from Pinterest and paste it into the header of your home page.

Click on "Advanced Settings"
To add the Meta tag using the Weebly website creator;
  • Go to the pages tab.
  • Select your home page.
  • Click on Advanced Settings.
  • Paste the code into the Header Code box.

Paste your code in the Header box and “Save”. Then “Publish”.
Then go back to https://pinterest.com/domain/verify/  and press “Click here to verify your website".

Now your URL along with a verification checkmark will appear next to your business name in Pinterest search results and on your profile.

What can I say, Avary? You must be my business angel! Thank you for alerting me to the Pinterest platform, its value to my marketing strategy, and for helping even a decidedly non-computer geek like me figure out how to get my site verified :-) Please keep up the fantastic work you are doing. It really helps.
